New National Referee at Digby

The senior (very) instructor at Digby, Julie Norman, is adding to her already amazing year by being qualified as a National Referee within the Amateur Judo Association. This prestigious qualification was awarded at the National competition on Sunday 20th March. Well done boss!

Timekeepers and Referee course

There is a timekeeper and referee course at Digby on Saturday 9th April between 10:00 and 13:00. The day is for all those who wish to Train to become a Referee or Timekeeper/Recorder. Current Referees and Timekeepers also more than welcome.

Three medals from the National Competition

Three of Acorn Judo’s competitors brought back medals from the National Competition on Sunday 20th March 2011. Kayne retained his Gold medal, which he first won in 2010 and James came away with a Gold medal, with Chris close behind with a Silver. A great result for the club.

Sports Personality of the Year at Acorn

Acorn Judo’s very own Julie Norman has won the Sports Personality of the Year Award in the Unsung Heroes category for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Following 30 years of dedication to the club, some of the parents nominated Julie earlier in the year and her dedication has been rewarded.
